You can adjust the joints inside your doll's skeleton, making them either fully fixed or looser. Most brands offer 3 configurations of joint tightness for the doll's skeleton.

When choosing a configuration, it's important to understand that the doll's joints naturally loosen over time. This is a normal part of using the doll. So a doll's joints will always become less and less firm over time.
Tightening loosened joints requires access to the doll's internal skeleton. This is an extremely complex procedure, effectively an operation. It's practically not feasible. We strongly advise against attempting it. It requires cutting open the doll's material and accessing the skeleton. You'd need to cut the material and the internal frame of the doll, which will almost always cause irreversible damage.
A doll's joints only ever move in one direction over time, towards looseness. So if you're torn between Standard and Loose configurations, choose Standard. Flexibility will come to your doll naturally with use. But restoring firmness to joints that started out loose is practically impossible.
Type 1 — Standard
These are standard tightness joints. All the joints in this skeleton bend with resistance and hold their set position well. Thanks to this, the doll can take on all the poses it needs, and hold them well.
The joints hold the doll's position. So noticeable resistance when bending the doll's joints isn't a fault, it's how the skeleton construction is designed to work. It's precisely this joint resistance that lets the doll "remember" the position the user sets for her.
The firmness of the doll's joints also depends on their position. The spine is usually the tightest joint, since it needs to keep the doll's torso upright. If it were too loose, the doll would simply collapse and slump in seated poses. The joints in the arms and wrists, by contrast, move noticeably more easily.
Also bear in mind that a new doll, straight out of the box, may feel too tight. This is normal and built into the design. With use, the joints loosen up and movements become smoother.
Who this suits
This is the most standard skeleton configuration, and the best all round option. These joints let you put the doll into any position her construction allows.
Type 2 — Half Loose
In this configuration, the doll's arms will be loosened. The other joints will be standard tightness. Thanks to this, the doll's arms move freely and swing, while she still keeps the ability to sit and hold the main sexual positions.
What this is for
Some users find that relaxed joints make the doll feel more realistic. It becomes more pleasant thanks to the give in the arms.

Please bear in mind that a doll like this won't be able to support herself on her arms. So poses such as doggy style won't be possible.
This type of joint configuration increases the risk of damaging the doll. Loosely swinging arms can stretch and damage the material, especially with sudden, careless movements in "unnatural" positions.
Type 3 — Full Loose
In this configuration, most of the joints throughout the doll's body will be loosened. The exception: the neck joints, which stay standard tightness so the doll can hold her head's position.
What this is for
A doll with this joint type becomes ragdoll like, almost an anti stress toy. She's very pliable, easily changes position and feels more "alive".
