Brands
No factory is best at everything. Each one has developed its own specialisms, its own body and head ranges, and its own approach to painting, skeletons and options. Knowing which brand does what is often a faster route to the right doll than comparing individual models.
These pages set out each brand's strengths and weaknesses as we see them, drawn from what we handle day to day rather than from marketing material. Where a brand is weaker than its reputation suggests, we say so.
Option names and palettes are brand-specific. A tone or a head type called the same thing at two factories will not be identical, which is why a head from one brand and a body from another never match perfectly.
