RST

RST (Real Skin Texture)

This is a separate body range from some brands (for example, TOP-CYDOLL and FunWest Doll). You can choose whether your doll is made with RST or with a standard body.

Dolls in this range have additional texture added to the skin. Thanks to this, the doll feels more textured to the touch and looks more realistic.

This body range is only available for fully silicone models.

How it works

Different moulds (casting forms) are used when making the doll. These are more detailed, with additional texture: the skin reproduces pores, fine wrinkles, creases at the joints, and the natural texture of human skin.

It's important to understand this is texture in the material itself, not layers applied on top. It's three dimensional, visible under side lighting, and can be felt with your fingers. And unlike any paintwork, it doesn't wear away over time: the texture is cast into the silicone and stays with the doll.

What this gives you

  • Visually: the skin stops looking perfectly smooth and "doll like". The effect is especially noticeable in daylight and side lighting, where the micro texture creates natural shadows, and in close up photographs.
  • Tactilely: the surface feels like skin, not smooth silicone. This is the level of detail that complements the material's softness.
  • Paired with Realistic Body Painting, the effect is at its maximum: the paintwork sits on top of the texture, emphasising it, and together they give the highest level of visual realism available.

Why only silicone

The same rule applies as with head detail: the denser the material, the deeper the texture it can hold. Only silicone can reproduce and retain the micro texture of pores and fine wrinkles. This level of detail isn't possible with TPE.

Texture can't be added to a doll that's already been produced. Also bear in mind that the RST version of a body usually costs more, and may not be available for every model from the brand. Check availability for a specific model on the product page.

Care

An RST body needs no extra care: the same rules apply as for a standard silicone body.
