Eyes

Eye colour is a free modification available across all brands. Eyes have a big impact on a doll's look, on a par with the wig. For TPE models, this impact is even more noticeable: a TPE doll's face is less detailed than a silicone one's, so it's the eyes that take on the main role in its expressiveness.

How it works

The eyes on a TPE doll are insert hemispheres that fit into the model's eye sockets. This is the standard construction for all TPE brands: the mechanical and other advanced eye types found on silicone dolls aren't offered for TPE.

The direction of the gaze can be adjusted by gently pressing the eyeball with a finger. Because TPE is so elastic, the eye sockets are pliable, so removing and swapping the eyes is even easier on a TPE doll than on a silicone one.

Which colours are available

The standard palette includes natural shades: brown, blue, green, grey, black. Many brands also offer bright fantasy options: purple, red, pink. You'll find the exact colour list in the customisation section of the product page.

Order one or two extra pairs of eyes along with your doll. Changing the eyes takes a couple of minutes, but it transforms the doll's look completely. Paired with interchangeable wigs, it's the simplest way to keep your model feeling "new". This combination is especially relevant for a TPE doll: the wig and eyes are the two main tools for changing her look.

Different brands use different eyeball diameters (usually between 24 and 32mm). If you want to buy extra eyes from a third-party manufacturer, always check the eye diameter of your doll first. Eyes of the wrong size will either fall out or won't fit into the socket.

Care and handling notes

  • When adjusting the gaze, press the eyeball gently, don't press on or pull at the eyelids.
  • When washing the face, don't let water pool in the eye sockets. If moisture does get in, remove the eye, dry the socket, and put the eye back in place. Leftover moisture in the socket is a risk for porous TPE.
  • The eyelashes are glued to the edge of the eyelid: don't catch them with your fingers while handling the eyes. We'll cover this in more detail in the section on eyebrows and eyelashes.
