Movable Eyelids
A unique upgrade for silicone FunWest Doll heads. This upgrade adds movable eyelids to your doll's head. Thanks to this, the doll's eyes can be opened and closed.
How it works
2 movable panels are added around the head's eyelids. By pressing them, you can set the eyes' position, from fully open to fully closed. Each eye opens and closes independently of the other. So you can leave one eye open while closing the other.
The position stays fixed, and the eyelids remain in whatever state you set them until you change it. This isn't electronics or a motorised mechanism, it's a mechanical construction operated with your fingers.
What this gives you
This upgrade adds the ability to set expressions on the doll. It improves the overall quality of the experience of being with the doll.
The gaze is the main element of a "living" face, and the eyelids control it just as much as the eyes themselves. Half closed eyelids give a relaxed, sultry expression. Fully closed gives a sleeping doll. A wink gives a playful look. Combined with changing the direction of the gaze, it's a tool for controlling the model's expression.
Is it worth adding
If your budget allows, we recommend adding this upgrade. It doesn't affect the feel of contact with the doll, but it adds variety to how you use her. So we can't call it a definite Must Have.
If you want to photograph your doll, then Movable Eyelids are definitely worth it. They significantly increase the doll's "emotional range". Photos become far more lifelike: the same portrait with different eyelid positions is two different moods for the shot. For photography, this is the most valuable head option after the eyes themselves.
Movable eyelids are delicate mechanics in the most delicate area of the head. Follow two rules:
- Move the eyelids gently, with the pad of a dry finger, without pressing on the eyeball or eyelashes.
- Don't press hard on the material, to avoid damaging it.
To minimise pressure on the silicone, move the panels not directly with your fingers, but through a sponge or soft cloth. This increases the contact area, so the material deforms less.
