Areola Size

Besides colour, a number of brands also let you choose the areola size. For TPE dolls, this modification works more simply than for silicone. Areola size is purely the diameter of the painted area, not a change made at the mould stage (the doll's casting form).

How it works

There are usually 3 options available: small, medium and large areolas. The size is set when the body make-up is applied. The artist marks out a zone of the chosen diameter around the nipple and paints it in your chosen shade. The nipple itself and the breast's contours stay exactly as set by that particular body's form; the modification only affects the paint.

What's important to understand

  • This modification works together with areola colour. In essence, you're choosing two parameters of a single paint job: shade and diameter.
  • The size is set once. It can't be changed after production without repainting the area.
  • The modification is available for almost all brands.

How to choose a size

A simple rule of proportion applies here. Small and medium areolas look more natural on smaller breasts. For larger breasts, choose medium or large: small areolas on large breasts look unnatural.

Otherwise, it's down to your own preference. If you don't have a specific request, choose a medium size or go by the studio photos of the model.

Since areola size is a paint job, everything we said in the Areola Colour section about paint wear on TPE applies here too: the shade gradually fades from friction, the material's oil release, talc and washing. There's one nuance specific to size: larger areolas show fading more visibly. The bigger the painted area, the more visible any uneven wear becomes on it. On a small areola, the paint ages less noticeably.

In the studio photographs

The doll is shown with one specific combination of breast size, areola diameter and shade. If you change the breast size relative to the photos, bear in mind that the areolas on your configuration may look different too.
