A quote from the workshop director 🤝 Ladies and gentlemen, these shots and this quote are a chance to show just how complex silicone painting really is. There’s only one way to recreate realistic skin — by applying a large number of paint layers. Hour after hour, the doll is covered with different layers of paint, each with varying density and using different tools. Depending on the brand’s quality level and the specific doll line, anywhere from 5 to 30 layers of paint may be applied.

Even if you work layer by layer and allow an hour for drying each time, you can already imagine how long this takes. And this isn’t even the longest stage of doll production yet 🤷🏼‍♂️
